In its resolution 2001/62, the Commission decided to renew for a period of three years the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the question of torture and to request the Special Rapporteur to present an interim report to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session on the overall trends and developments with regard to his mandate and a full report to the Commission

10. The Commission had made commendable progress at its fifty-sixth session on the topic of international liability for injurious consequences arising out of acts not prohibited by international law by adopting the draft principles on the allocation of loss in the case of transboundary harm arising out of hazardous activities only three years after the adoption of the draft articles on prevention.
10 - وخلص إلى التنويه بأن اللجنة أحرزت تقدما مرموقا في دورتها السادسة والخمسين بشأن موضوع المسؤولية الدولية عن النتائج الضارة الناجمة عن أفعال لا يحظرها القانون الدولي عندما اعتمدت مشاريع المبادئ المتصلة بتوزيع الخسارة في حالة الضرر العابر للحدود الناجم عن أنشطة خطرة وذلك بعد ثلاث سنوات فقط من اعتماد مشاريع المواد المتعلقة بالمنع.

By decision 2001/298, the Council recommended that the Assembly take a decision at its fifty-sixth session on the question of enlarging the membership of the Executive Committee of the Programme of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees from fifty-eight to sixty-one States (see also decision 2001/217).

Taking note further of the decision of the Conference of the Parties inviting the General Assembly to decide at its fifty-sixth session on the question of meeting the conference-servicing expenses of the Convention from its regular budget, taking into account the views expressed by Member States,

Considers that, in enhancing the operational capacity of UNCTAD, full consideration should also be given to the activities for UNCTAD generated by the outcomes of the 4th WTO Ministerial Meeting and the resolution adopted by the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session on work on landlocked developing countries, including the holding of the ministerial meeting scheduled for 2003;
4- ترى أنه ينبغي، عند زيادة القدرة التشغيلية للأونكتاد، إيلاء الاعتبار الكامل أيضاً لأنشطة الأونكتاد الناشئة عن النتائج التي توصل إليها الاجتماع الوزاري الرابع لمنظمة التجارة العالمية والقرار الذي اعتمدته الجمعية العامة في دورتها السادسة والخمسين بشأن الأعمال المتعلقة بالبلدان النامية غير الساحلية، بما في ذلك عقد الاجتماع الوزاري المقرر انعقاده في عام 2003؛

(c) To submit an interim joint working paper to the Sub-Commission at its fiftysixth session on the need to develop guiding principles, building on the abovementioned conceptual framework and, if appropriate, to identify its specific points.

In the same resolution, the Commission invited the independent expert, Mr. Adama Dieng (Senegal), to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session and to the Commission on Human Rights at its fiftysixth session on developments in the human rights situation in Haiti.
وفي القرار نفسه، دعت اللجنة الخبير المستقل، السيد أداما ديينغ (السنغال)، إلى تقديم تقرير إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين وإلى لجنة حقوق الإنسان في دورتها السادسة والخمسين بشأن التطورات المستجدة في حالة حقوق الإنسان في هايتي.
