Under the Jordanian Penal Code, to compel a girl under 15 years of age to marry or to aid and abet the forced marriage of a girl under 18 years of age without the consent of her legal guardian is a criminal offence.
كما يحدد قانون العقوبات الأردني عقوبة من يفرض الزواج على من هي دون الخامسة عشر أو ساعد في تزويج فتاة لم تتم الثامنة عشرة من عمرها دون أن يتحقق من موافقة ولي أمرها.

298. Jordan's initial report to the Committee, submitted in 1993, and its second report, submitted in 1998, contained details of the provisions of the Jordanian Penal Code relating to the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.

1 - تعديل المادة 208 من قانون العقوبات الأردني المتعلقة بالتعذيب لجعلها متوافقة مع تعريف التعذيب الوارد في اتفاقية مناهضة التعذيب.

In July 2006, the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism expressed concern at the legislation applicable to crimes of terrorism, in particular that resulting from the Jordanian Penal Code and the Draft Terror Prevention Law.
40- في تموز/يوليه 2006، أعرب المقرر الخاص المعني بتعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية في سياق مكافحة الإرهاب عن قلقه إزاء التشريعات القابلة للتطبيق على جرائم الإرهاب، ولا سيما التشريعات المستمدة من قانون العقوبات الأردني ومشروع القرار المتعلق بمنع الإرهاب.

The provisions governing terrorism in the Jordanian Penal Code do not cover terrorist acts carried out using nuclear materials. Provision for these and for the penalties to be imposed in the event of their perpetration must therefore be made and explicitly so, leaving no room for interpretation.

1. According to paragraph 16 of the State party report, article 208 of the Jordanian Criminal Code has been amended to classify the practice of torture as a specific criminal offence in conformity with the Convention against Torture.

118. the Jordanian Criminal Code (arts. 287 to 290) protects minors, prescribing a term of imprisonment for any parent, guardian or trustee who refuses or neglects to provide a minor with food, clothing, bedding and other necessities.
118- حمى قانون العقوبات الأردني الأشخاص القاصرين في المواد 287-290، حيث نص على المعاقبة بالحبس لمن كان والداً أو ولياً أو وصياً ورفض أو أهمل تزويد القاصر بالطعام والكساء والفراش والضروريات الأخرى.

Jordan's Penal Code includes provisions aimed at protecting children from abuse and exploitation, as noted in the first periodic report to the Committee. Those provisions are contained in articles 285, 287-292, 293.2, 294.2, 295-298, 279.2, 334.1, 328.2, 330-336, 43, 302, 304-306, 310, 314 and 389.
يتضمن قانون العقوبات الأردني نصوصاً لحماية الطفل من إساءة المعاملة والاستغلال وردت في التقرير السابق، وهي المواد ذوات الأرقام التالية: (285، 287-292، 293/2، 294/2، 295-298، 279/2، 334/1، 328/2، 330-336، 43، 302، 304-306، 310، 314، 389).

The text of the above-mentioned provisions of the Jordanian Penal Law in the original Arabic, as they appeared in issue No. 1487 of the Jordanian official Journal, dated 1 May 1960, was enclosed.*
