Thus, despite the limitations of its mandate and military resources, UNPROFOR has played a major stabilizing role and contributed to normalizing the situation, particularly in and around Sarajevo and along the confrontation lines in both Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Consequently, the Working Group decided, in May 1997, that, for the time being, cases of disappearance which had occurred in the Republic of Croatia and in Bosnia and Herzegovina until the date of entry into force of the Dayton Peace Agreement on 14 December 1995 would not be dealt with by the Working Group and, consequently, it would not report to the Commission on Human Rights on those cases.

92. As stated in paragraphs 48 and 49 of the Secretary-General's report to the Security Council dated 22 March 1995 (S/1995/222), the mission has encountered delays in obtaining frequencies in Croatia and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Under the circumstances, bridging financing is sought in the amount of $89,484,800 gross ($87,915,500 net) per month for the period from 1 January to 31 March 1996 to meet the costs of the maintenance of UNPREDEP, the liquidation of UNCRO and UNPROFOR, and the new operations to be authorized by the Security Council in Croatia and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
وفي ظل هذه الظروف، يقتضي اﻷمر تمويلا انتقاليا بمبلغ إجماليه ٨٠٠ ٤٨٤ ٨٩ دولار )صافيه ٥٠٠ ٩١٥ ٨٧ دولار( شهريا للفترة من ١ كانون الثاني/يناير إلى ٣١ آذار/مارس ١٩٩٦ للوفاء بتكاليف اﻹبقاء على قوة اﻷمم المتحدة للوزع الوقائي، وتصفية عملية أنكرو وقوة اﻷمم المتحدة للحماية، وتكاليف العمليات الجديدة المقرر أن يأذن بها مجلس اﻷمن في كرواتيا وفي البوسنة والهرسك.
