1. I concur with the Committee's opinion in this case and wish to associate myself with the individual opinion formulated by Ms. Evatt and Mr. Kretzmer as being the one that most clearly expresses my own thoughts.
١ - إنني اتفق مع رأي اللجنة في هذه الرسالة وأود أن أنضم إلى الرأي المنفرد المقدم من السيدة إيفات والسيد كريتزمر باعتباره أوضح اﻵراء التي تعبر عن أفكاري.

59. Mr. Kretzmer said he endorsed the comments and questions of all previous speakers; he was especially concerned by the large number of killings by security forces, and the impunity they enjoyed.
59 - السيد كريتزمر: قال إنه يؤيد التعليقات والأسئلة التي طرحها جميع المتحدثين قبله وأنه يشعر بالقلق بصفة خاصة إزاء العدد الكبير من حوادث القتل على أيدي قوات الأمن والإفلات من العقوبة الذي يتمتعون به.

Mr. Kretzmer said that he still had no answer to his question as to whether there was any legislation prohibiting discrimination in the private sphere, such as in employment or housing.
٤ - السيد كريتزمر: قال إنه لم يحصل بعد على إجابة عن سؤاله عما إذا كان هناك أي تشريع يحظر التمييز في مجالات معينة، كالعمالة أو السكن.

Mr. Kretzmer said that the action taken by Parliament against the journalists raised a serious question regarding the independence of the judiciary and constituted a violation of articles 9 and 14 of the Covenant.

56. Mr. Kretzmer, praising the frank and open response of the Brazilian Government to the Committee's concerns and the commitment displayed in the new National Human Rights Programme, asked whether a timetable had been laid down for its implementation.
٦٥ - السيد كريتزمر أشاد بالرد الصريح والمنفتح للحكومة البرازيلية على شواغل اللجنة واﻹلتزام البادي في البرنامج الوطني الجديد لحقوق اﻹنسان، وتساءل عما إذا كان قد تم وضع جدول زمني من أجل تنفيذه.

Mr. Kretzmer inquired whether procedures existed to remove from power, and prevent the professional advancement of, persons convicted of human rights violations who had been pardoned.

49. Mr. Kretzmer commended the reporting State on the excellence of its report but agreed with Mr. El-Shafei that it lacked information regarding any practical mechanisms that may have been instituted to protect the individual.
٤٩ - السيد كريتزمر: أثنى على الدولة المقدمة للتقرير لجودة تقريرها ولكنه اتفق مع الرأي الذي أبداه السيد الشافعي بأن التقرير يفتقر الى معلومات حول اﻵليات العملية التي قد تكون قد أُنشئت لحماية اﻷفراد.
