At the same session, it requested the secretariat to prepare a synthesis report on possible elements for a future mandate of the LEG, taking into account those submissions from Parties and inputs provided by the LEG at its eighteenth meeting, for consideration by the SBI at its thirty-third session, with a view to recommending a decision on a future mandate of the LEG for adoption by the Conference of the Parties (COP) at its sixteenth session.

At the 3rd meeting, the Chairman noted that, pursuant to decision 10/CP.2, the secretariat makes available at each session information obtained from the secretariat of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) on the financial support provided to non-Annex I Parties for preparation of their national communications, and stated that a report would be made available for consideration by the SBI at the second part of its thirteenth session.
