Since 1999, Japan has been making every effort to implement the recommendations of UNISPACE III, and I would like to take a moment to express some of our views on that item.

The Committee had identified a mechanism for implementing those recommendations and, in the period 2001 to 2004, would devote a separate agenda item to the consideration of progress made in that area.
