The Doha International Centre for Interfaith Dialogue was established on the recommendation of the Fifth Doha Conference of Interfaith Dialogue, held in May 2007, and was inaugurated in May 2008 during the Sixth Conference.

17. CERD welcomed the establishment of the Qatari Foundation to Combat Human Trafficking, the Qatari Foundation for the Protection of Women and Children, the Doha International Centre for Interfaith Dialogue and the Doha Centre for Media Freedom.
17- ورحبت لجنة القضاء على التمييز العنصري بإنشاء المؤسسة القطرية لمكافحة الاتجار بالبشر والمؤسسة القطرية لحماية الطفل والمرأة ومركز الدوحة الدولي لحوار الأديان ومركز الدوحة لحرية الإعلام(37).

A group of students from Qatar and the Netherlands enriched the Conference with an intervention on the youth perspective on Interfaith Dialogue and the role of religion in the upbringing of children. That intervention fulfilled the wish that had been articulated by many Conference participants to hear about both the positive and the negative experiences of youth.
لقد أثرى الجلسة الختامية إسهام مجموعة من الطلبة من قطر وهولندا تحت شعار " رؤية الشباب لحوار الأديان ودور الدين في تنشئة الأجيال " ، وحقق هذا الإسهام رغبة شديدة في ضرورة الاستماع إلى تجارب الشباب - الإيجابية منها والسلبية - عبر عنها كثير من المشاركين في المؤتمر أثناء جلساته المختلفة.

This meeting today of the international family is being held to give effect to what was agreed upon at the World Conference on Interfaith Dialogue, held in Madrid in July 2008 at the kind initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, at which the participants called for a special session of the United Nations General Assembly on Interfaith Dialogue.
