The former Ambassador of the Netherlands to the United Nations Office at Vienna was appointed as the Article XIV Conference Special Representative in order to promote, on behalf of ratifying States, early entry into force of the Treaty.

The emphasis of the Service in the biennium 2002-2003 will be to improve the quality of services provided to the media accredited to the United Nations Office at Vienna and to increase its outreach activities towards all other target audiences, especially students and teachers, non-governmental organizations, the business community and other civil society groups.

Following the Secretariat's presentation the representative of UNIDO said that UNIDO had tried without success to contact the national ozone officer of the party over a period of six months and to obtain information from the party's Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office at Vienna.

In cooperation with the Vienna Office of the Office for Disarmament Affairs, the Permanent Mission of Hungary to the United Nations Office at Vienna organized a seminar entitled " Towards a chemical, biological and nuclear security culture: a holistic approach " , at its premises with about 70 participants (mainly Vienna-based diplomats).

The Foundation's resident representative to the United Nations Office at Vienna also represented the Foundation at many other United Nations meetings held there, such as the sessions of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs and the fourth and fifth sessions of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (2008 and 2010).

The Permanent Mission of Hungary to the United Nations Office at Vienna organized at its premises, on 7 June 2011, in close cooperation with the Provisional Technical Secretariat of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, a round-table discussion on the civil and scientific application of the Treaty verification related technologies.
قامت البعثة الدائمة لهنغاريا لدى مكتب الأمم المتحدة في فيينا بتنظيم مناقشة مائدة مستديرة بشأن التطبيقات المدنية والعلمية للتكنولوجيات المتصلة بنظام التحقق من المعاهدة، وذلك بمقرها في 7 حزيران/يونيه 2011، بالتعاون الوثيق مع الأمانة التقنية المؤقتة للجنة التحضيرية لمعاهدة الحظر الشامل للتجارب النووية.
