Welcomes the commitment of the Government of the Russian Federation to cooperate with the special mechanisms of the Commission, and the invitations extended to the Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences, and the Special Representative of the SecretaryGeneral on the impact of armed conflict on children and requests them to carry out their missions promptly;

Notes the recent efforts exerted by the Governments of the Sudan and Uganda, complemented by those of the Special Representative of the SecretaryGeneral on the impact of armed conflict on children, the United Nations Children's Fund and intergovernmental organizations, which resulted in the identification and reunification of more of those children with their families;
11- تلاحظ الجهود التي بذلتها مؤخراً حكومتا أوغندا والسودان والتي اشترك فيها الممثل الخاص للأمين العام المعني بأثر النزاعات المسلحة على الأطفال، ومنظمة الأمم المتحدة للطفولة، ومنظمات غير حكومية، وهي جهود أسفرت عن معرفة هوية المزيد من هؤلاء الأطفال وضمهم لأسرهم؛

He noted with disappointment that the problems raised 10 years previously in the study had not been addressed as urgently as he had hoped. Many strides had been made, including improved international legal standards and the establishment of the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for children and Armed Conflict.
