Right after the elections the Committee for Gender Equality of the Croatian Parliament was established as a central body for all issues related to women's human rights.

Articles 16 and 17 of the Constitution allow the Croatian Parliament or the President of the Republic to restrict constitutional rights and guarantees during " a state of war or an immediate danger to the independence and unity of the Republic, or in the event of some national disaster " .
