٣١ - وقد وجهت اﻷمم المتحدة دعوات الى أعضاء منتسبين الى اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية ﻵسيا والمحيط الهادئ، من بينها ساموا اﻷمريكية، للمشاركة بصفة مراقبين في اللجنة التحضيرية للمؤتمر العالمي اﻷول المعني بالتنمية المستدامة للدول النامية الجزرية الصغيرة فضلا عن المؤتمر نفسه، الذي سيعقد في بربادوس، في الفترة من ٢٥ نيسان/ابريل الى ٦ أيار/مايو ١٩٩٤.

14. 5. At its 143rd meeting, the Assembly considered requests for observer status by the Deep Sea Conservation Coalition and by the Committee for Mineral Reserves International Reporting Standards, two non-governmental organizations, and decided to invite both organizations to participate as observers in its meetings, pursuant to rule 82, paragraph 1 (e), of the rules of procedure of the Assembly.
5 - نظرت الجمعية، في جلستها 143، في طلبين للحصول على مركز مراقب مقدمين من تحالف حفظ أعماق البحار ومن لجنة معايير الإبلاغ الدولي عن الاحتياطيات المعدنية، وهما منظمتان غير حكوميتين، وقررت دعوة المنظمتين كلتيهما للمشاركة بصفة مراقبين في اجتماعاتها، عملا بالفقرة 1 (هـ) من المادة 82 من النظام الداخلي للجمعية.
