The Commission's mandate focused on four objectives: to investigate reports of violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law in Darfur by all parties; to determine whether or not acts of genocide had occurred; to identify the perpetrators of such violations; and to suggest means of ensuring that those responsible were held accountable.
