In response, and in pursuance of Council resolutions 2004/49 and 2005/42, the United Nations Public-Private Alliance for Rural Development was launched as an ad hoc initiative of the Council to help further these aims, with Madagascar and the Dominican Republic serving as the first two pilot countries for the Alliance.

7 - يدعو حكومتي مدغشقر والجمهورية الدومينيكية بصفتهما البلدين التجريبيين لتحالف الأمم المتحدة إلى أن تقومـا، بدعم من مؤسسات منظومة الأمم المتحدة ذات الصلة، بإجراء تقييم للقدرات المتاحة لدى الآليات ذات الصلة بغرض التـرويـج لـلشراكات بين القطاعين العام والخاص وتتبع تطوراتها بشكل سريع؛

7. Invites the Governments of Madagascar and the Dominican Republic, as pilot countries for the United Nations Public-Private Alliance, with support from relevant organizations of the United Nations system, to conduct an evaluation of the existing capacities of the relevant mechanisms for promoting and fast-tracking public-private partnerships;

B. Strengthening global advocacy 67. At the global level, the Office for Economic and Social Council Support and Coordination of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs has prepared advocacy products (available also in French and Spanish) for Madagascar and the Dominican Republic, and launched a new website to update stakeholders on progress achieved through Alliance partnerships (www.un.org/esa/coordination/ Alliance/home).
