15. Investments in public health not only improve access to basic health-care facilities, but also reduce future financial and human costs such as malnutrition, maternal and child mortality, the incidence of communicable and non-communicable diseases and endemics, and absenteeism or leaving school or jobs owing to ill health.
١٥ - ولا يترتب عن الاستثمارات في مجال الصحة العامة تحسين إمكانية الاستفادة من خدمات مرافق الرعاية الصحية الأساسية فحسب، بل أيضا تخفيض التكاليف المالية والبشرية التي ستتكبد في المستقبل نتيجة عوامل مثل سوء التغذية، والوفيات النفاسية ووفيات الأطفال، وانتشار الأمراض المعدية وغير المعدية والأمراض المستوطنة، والتغيب باستمرار عن المدرسة أو العمل أو الانقطاع عنهما بسبب اعتلال الصحة.
