1. By its resolution 1993/22, the Commission on Human Rights decided to establish, initially for a three-year period, a Working Group on the right to Development, composed of 15 experts nominated by Governments to be appointed by the Chairman of the Commission on Human Rights at its forty-ninth session, on the basis of equitable geographical representation and in consultation with the regional groups in the Commission, with the following mandate:

In 2000, the Commission on Human Rights appointed a Special Rapporteur on the right to food, requesting the mandate holder (a) to collect relevant information on all aspects of the right, including the urgent necessity of eradicating hunger; (b) to establish cooperation with relevant actors; and (c) to identify emerging issues related to the right to food worldwide.
34- وفي عام 2000، عيّنت لجنة حقوق الإنسان مقرراً خاصاً معنياً بالحق في الغذاء وطلبت منه (أ) جمع المعلومات المتصلة بجميع جوانب الحق في الغذاء، بما في ذلك الحاجة الملحّة إلى القضاء على الجوع؛ (ب) إقامة تعاون مع العناصر الفاعلة المعنية بالموضوع؛ (ج) تحديد القضايا الناشئة المتصلة بالحق في الغذاء على نطاق العالم.
