578. The Committee is concerned about the practice of female genital mutilation and other harmful traditional practices affecting the health of the girl child in some regions of the State party.

The Committee recommends that the State party provide in its next periodic report information on the situation in all regions of the State party, including on complaints of racial discrimination and on redress, if any, provided to the victims.

Therefore, in order for single-State zones to have equal legal basis with other zones, the objectives, purposes and principles, as well as the status of the zones, should be clearly defined in international agreement(s), taking duly into account the experience of other nuclear-weapon-free zones, as well as the specifics of single-State zones.
ومن ثم فلكي تكون لمناطق الدولة الوحيدة أسس قانونية متساوية مع غيرها من المناطق، ينبغي أن تحدد بوضوح أهداف ومقاصد ومبادئ تلك المناطق، فضلا عن مركزها في اتفاق دولي أو اتفاقات دولية، مع أخذ خبرة المناطق اﻷخرى الخالية من اﻷسلحة النووية، فضلا عن خصائص مناطق الدولة الوحيدة في الاعتبار على النحو الواجب.

Qatar provides primary education opportunities free of charge for all children over six years of age. These educational services are available to all students in all parts of the State.
