(vii) The Economic and Social Council may wish to build on the progress made in the implementation of the recommendations in paragraph 39 of annex I to Assembly resolution 50/227 regarding periodic meetings with the bureaux and the secretariats of the functional commissions, other subsidiary and related bodies and the relevant executive boards.

The Council adopted resolution 1998/46 and decided to bring it to the attention of the General Assembly in pursuance of paragraph 70 of annex I to Assembly resolution 50/277 and paragraphs 9 and 10 of Assembly resolution 52/12 B.

65. Paragraphs 76 through 78 of annex I to Assembly resolution 50/227 contain provisions for the governing bodies of the United Nations programmes and funds.
٦٥ - تتضمن الفقرات ٧٦ - لغاية ٧٨ من المرفق اﻷول لقرار الجمعية ٥٠/٢٢٧ أحكاما تتعلق بمجالس إدارة برامج وصناديق اﻷمم المتحدة.

2. Decides also that the functions of the operational activities segment of the Council set out in paragraph 16 of annex I to Assembly resolution 48/162 will be primarily undertaken at the working-level meeting;

In accordance with paragraph 30 of annex I to Assembly resolution 48/162, a series of consultations have been held between the secretariats of the United Nations and FAO.

The Council decided that it would take a decision at its substantive session of 1997 on further action on how to achieve the objectives set out in paragraphs 74 and 75 of annex I to Assembly resolution 50/227, taking into account the above-mentioned reviews.
وقرر المجلس أن يبت في دورته الموضوعية لعام ١٩٩٧ فيما سيتخذه من إجراءات أخرى بشأن كيفية تحقيق اﻷهداف الواردة في الفقرتين ٤٧ و٥٧ من المرفق اﻷول لقرار الجمعية العامة ٠٥/٧٢٢، آخذا في اعتباره الاستعراضات السابقة الذكر.

The Council also decided to take a decision at that session concerning further action on how to achieve the objectives set out in paragraphs 74 and 75 of annex I to Assembly resolution 50/227, taking into account the above-mentioned reviews (E/1997/5 and E/1997/40 and Add.1).
وقرر المجلس أيضا أن يتخذ في تلك الدورة مقررا بشأن اﻹجراءات اﻷخرى المتعلقة بكيفية تحقيق اﻷهداف المبينة في الفقرتين ٧٤ و ٧٥ من المرفق اﻷول لقرار الجمعية العامة ٥٠/٢٢٧، مع مراعاة الاستعراضات المشار إليها أعلاه )انظر E/1997/5 و E/1997/40 و (Add.1.

The General Committee decided to draw the General As-sembly’s attention to paragraph 4 of its decision 34/401, para-graph 5 of the annex to Assembly resolution 39/88 B, paragraph 6 of the annex to Assembly resolution 45/45 and paragraphs 2 and 5 (b) and (d) of annex I to Assembly resolution 48/264 concerning the allocation and clustering of items.
