Uruguay recognized the constructive attitude of the Argentine Government and called on the Secretary-General to continue his mission of good offices as requested in General Assembly resolutions.

47. His delegation encouraged the Secretary-General to continue his mission of good offices in order to bring the parties together for the negotiations called for by the Committee and the General Assembly.
47 - وأضاف قائلا إن وفد بلده يشجع الأمين العام على مواصلة مهمته للمساعي الحميدة من أجل جمع الأطراف معا إلى المفاوضات التي دعت إليها اللجنة والجمعية العامة.

Urges the leaders of the two communities to respond positively and urgently to the Secretary-General's call upon them to work with him and with the many countries who support his mission of good offices to break the present impasse and establish common ground on which direct negotiations can be resumed;
٢١ - يحث زعماء الطائفتين على الاستجابة فورا لدعوة اﻷمين العام إياهما إلى التعاون معه ومع البلدان الكثيرة التي تساند مهمته للمساعي الحميدة الرامية إلى الخروج من الطريق المسدود وإيجاد أرضية مشتركة يمكن استئناف المفاوضات المباشرة على أساسها؛
