47. Under its regional programme for Arab States, 2011-2015, UNODC continued to support countries in North Africa, notably Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, to improve their criminal justice systems in order to strengthen the rule of law.

44- وأيد بعض المتكلمين أيضاً الاستنتاج الذي مؤداه أن على الدول الأطراف أن تنظر، بما يتماشى مع نظمها القانونية الداخلية، في اعتماد تشريعات تتيح لها استخدام المعلومات التي تتلقاها من المنظمات الدولية كأدلة في قضايا الفساد التي تكون قيد النظر لدى نظم العدالة الجنائية فيها.

(c) Governments should be encouraged to consider, within their legal frameworks and in compliance with applicable international laws, enabling their criminal justice systems to provide treatment and rehabilitation as alternatives to prosecution and prison for drug-using offenders;
(ج) ينبغي تشجيع الحكومات على أن تنظر، ضمن أطرها القانونية وطبقاً للقوانين الدولية المنطبقة، في تمكين نظم العدالة الجنائية فيها من توفير برامج العلاج وإعادة التأهيل كبدائل للملاحقة القضائية وعقوبات السجن لمرتكبي جرائم تعاطي المخدِّرات؛

In its resolution 1998/23, on international cooperation aimed at the reduction of prison overcrowding and the promotion of alternative sentencing, the Economic and Social Council urged Member States, if they had not yet done so, to consider introducing appropriate alternatives to imprisonment in their criminal justice systems.
وفي قراره ٨٩٩١/٣٢ ، المتعلق بالتعاون الدولي الهادف الى تقليل اكتظاط السجون وترويج اﻷحكام البديلة ، حث المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي الدول اﻷعضاء على أن تستحدث في نظم العدالة الجنائية فيها بدائل السجن الملائمة اذا كانت لم تفعل ذلك بعد .

Recognizing the importance of peace, security, justice and the rule of law as part of an enabling environment for sustainable and equitable development, the Meeting noted that the enhancement of the rule of law was a process that required constant effort and that many Member States in the African region were currently at the stage of streamlining their criminal justice systems with the aim of establishing or improving the rule of law.
10- وإدراكاً لأهمية السلم والأمن والعدالة وسيادة القانون باعتبارها من عناصر البيئة المواتية للتنمية المستدامة والمنصفة، أشار الاجتماع إلى أنَّ تعزيز سيادة القانون أمر يتطلب بذل جهود مستمرة وأنَّ الكثير من الدول الأعضاء في المنطقة الأفريقية تمر في الوقت الحالي بمرحلة ترشيد نظم العدالة الجنائية فيها بهدف إرساء سيادة القانون أو النهوض بها.
