A wide range of approaches to the integration of climate risk assessment and management and disaster risk reduction strategies into national policies and programmes was reported at the workshop and in the associated submissions.
43- وأثناء حلقة العمل، أبلغت الأطراف والمنظمات عن مجموعة كبيرة من الأنشطة المتصلة بتيسير دمج تقييم وإدارة المخاطر المناخية واستراتيجيات الحد من مخاطر الكوارث في السياسات والبرامج الوطنية.

CSD 17 acknowledged the nexus between climate change and desertification and supported the integration of climate change adaptation measures and disaster risk reduction strategies in agricultural and rural development strategies, and sustainable land management and action plans to combat drought and desertification, in particular in developing countries.
65- واعترفت الدورة السابعة عشرة للجنة التنمية المستدامة بالترابط بين تغير المناخ والتصحر، وأيدت دمج تدابير التكيف مع تغير المناخ واستراتيجيات الحد من مخاطر الكوارث في الاستراتيجيات الزراعية واستراتيجيات التنمية الريفية والإدارة المستدامة للأراضي وأنشطة العمل الرامية إلى مكافحة التصحر والجفاف، ولا سيما في البلدان النامية.

Angie Dazé, a representative of CARE International, noted that CARE focused on community-based adaptation, which incorporated the promotion of climate-resilient livelihoods, disaster risk reduction strategies, capacity development for local civil society and governmental institutions, and advocacy, social mobilization and empowerment to address the underlying causes of vulnerability.
20- وأشارت انجي دازيه، ممثلة منظمة " كير " الدولية، إلى أن المنظمة تركز على التكيف على مستوى المجتمع المحلي، والذي يشمل تعزيز سبل العيش التي تتسم بالمرونة تجاه تغير المناخ، واستراتيجيات الحد من مخاطر الكوارث، وتنمية قدرات المجتمع المدني المحلي والمؤسسات الحكومية، والدعوة والتعبئة الاجتماعية والتمكين بهدف معالجة الأسباب الكامنة وراء الضعف.

The session also acknowledged the nexus between climate change and desertification and supported the integration of climate change adaptation measures and disaster risk reduction strategies in agricultural and rural development strategies, sustainable land management and action plans to combat drought and desertification, in particular in developing countries.
30 - سلمت الدورة السابعة عشرة أيضا بالصلة بين تغير المناخ والتصحر وأيدت إدماج التدابير المتعلقة بالتكيف مع تغير المناخ واستراتيجيات الحد من مخاطر الكوارث في الاستراتيجيات الإنمائية الزراعية والاستراتيجيات الإنمائية الريفية وإدارة الأراضي المستدامة وخطط العمل لمكافحة الجفاف والتصحر ولا سيما في البلدان النامية.

Views and information on ongoing efforts to integrate adaptation and risk management into development planning were submitted to the secretariat by Parties and relevant organizations and discussed at the technical workshop on integrating practices, tools and systems for climate risk assessment and management and disaster risk reduction strategies into national policies and programmes, which took place in Havana, Cuba, on 10 - 12 March 2009.
