(ii) To raise awareness of and support the Government's action to fight violations and abuses against children in armed conflict, including sexual and other gender-based violence committed against children, ensure the protection and access to justice of victims of such violence and fight impunity;

The Council further requests enhanced exchange of pertinent information on violations and abuses committed against children in armed conflict between its Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict and relevant Sanctions Committees and their expert groups.

The Council welcomes the progress made in preventing and responding to violations and abuses committed against children, especially with regard to the increasing number of action plans signed or under negotiation by parties to armed conflict, and the thousands of children that have been demobilized, rehabilitated and reintegrated.

4. The present report provides a summary of the discussions in the sessions and sets out recommendations for strengthening action by the Security Council on violations and abuses committed against children in situations of armed conflict.

(b) Strongly condemning all violations and abuses committed against children by all parties to the armed conflict mentioned in the above-referenced report, and expressing particular concern about the continued recruitment and use of children, killing and maiming and attacks on schools and hospitals in violation of applicable international law;
(ب) يدين بشدة جميع الانتهاكات والاعتداءات المرتكبة ضد الأطفال من قبل جميع أطراف النزاع المسلح الوارد ذكرها في التقرير المشار إليه أعلاه، ويعرب عن القلق على وجه الخصوص إزاء استمرار تجنيد الأطفال واستخدامهم، وقتلهم وتشويههم، وشن الهجمات على المدارس والمستشفيات في انتهاك للقانون الدولي الساري؛

Despite these encouraging developments, members of the Working Group underlined that many challenges remain and that further efforts need to be undertaken by the Government of Myanmar to end violations and abuses against children and, in this regard, to fully comply with its commitments under the terms of the action plan.
