A UNESCO project on scientific technical and vocational education for girls was launched to enhance access to science, technical and vocational education, to achieve a gender-balanced environment and to sensitize policy-makers to those issues.
وبدئ مشروع لليونسكو بشأن التعليم العلمي والتقني والمهني للفتيات بهدف تعزيز الحصول على التعليم العلمي والتقني والمهني، من أجل تحقيق بيئة متوازنة من حيث نوع الجنس وتوعية صانعي السياسات بهذه القضايا.

Improvements in secondary, technical and vocational and tertiary education were not as outstanding as those in primary education.

A related issue is skill mismatch, with the knowledge acquired by secondary, technical and vocational, and tertiary education graduates not always being in line with labour market demand.

So far, though, the Ministry of Education has issued no guidelines or announced any measures pertaining to the curricula and practices of secondary, technical and vocational establishments or of higher education institutions, aimed at reducing gender segregation in various professional and academic careers.

This component is included in all special projects concerning women undertaken within UNESCO's education sector - Promoting Girls' and Women's Education in Africa; Science; technical and vocational Education of Girls in Africa; Women, Higher Education and Development; and Women, Science and Technology - as well as in other programme sectors of UNESCO that are working on special projects concerning women.

In order to make all working people well acquainted with the science and technology of their fields as well as the machines and equipments they operate the State offers them scientific, technical and vocational education at the factory colleges, farm colleges, fishing ground colleges, skill training schools, centers or courses and field classes on the farm.

The office participated in project: " Scientific, technical and vocational Education of Girls in Africa " in cooperation with various governmental institutions and NGOs: the Forum for African Women Educationalists; the Gender Science and Technology Network; and the Third World Association for Women in Science.

Crucial requirements are well known and include improving the access to and quality of primary, secondary, technical and vocational education; improving marketing arrangements for primary commodities; land reform; mobilization of domestic saving for infrastructure including small scale, local public works and for private investment; and attracting foreign direct investment under conditions that ensure benefits to the receiving countries.

15. The aim of this project is to favour the access of girls to scientific, technical and vocational education, to assess and reduce the obstacles encountered by girls in acceding to scientific, technical and vocational education and to promote the development of gender-specific strategies to enhance the access of girls to such education.
١٥ - الهدف المنشود من هذا المشروع هو تعزيز توفير التعليم العلمي والتقني والمهني للفتيات وذلك بتقييم وتذليل ما يواجه الفتيات من عقبات في مجال الانتفاع بالتعليم العلمي والتقني والمهني وإلى التشجيع على وضع استراتيجيات ترمي بوجه خاص إلى تعزيز انتفاع الفتيات بهذا النوع من التعليم.

18. Under Decree No. 2012-685 of the President of the Republic, of 30 May 2012, no registration fees are charged for examinations and competitive exams in primary, secondary, technical and vocational education and textbooks are also free of charge.
