Furthermore, the activities of the Security Council and its subsidiary organs have been increasing both in pace and complexity, as the Council has continued to diversify its agenda to include conflict prevention and post-conflict peacebuilding, as well as thematic issues such as justice and the rule of law, small arms and the protection of civilians in armed conflict.
