In its resolution 53/111 of 9 December 1998, the General Assembly decided to establish an open-ended intergovernmental ad hoc committee for the purpose of elaborating a comprehensive international convention against transnational organized crime and three additional international legal instruments.
1- قررت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 53/111 المؤرخ 9 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1998، انشاء لجنة مخصصة دولية-حكومية مفتوحة العضوية لغرض وضع اتفاقية دولية شاملة لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية وثلاثة صكوك قانونية دولية اضافية.

122. The Economic and Social Council, at its substantive session in July 1998, approved for adoption by the General Assembly a resolution which provides for the establishment of an open-ended intergovernmental ad hoc committee for the purpose of elaborating a comprehensive international convention against transnational organized crime.
١٢٢ - وقد وافق المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، في دورته الموضوعية المعقودة في تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٨، على قرار لكي تعتمده الجمعية العامة، ينص على إنشاء لجنة مخصصة حكومية دولية مفتوحة باب العضوية بهدف وضع اتفاقية دولية شاملة لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية.

26. While it was recognized that the question of the elaboration of a comprehensive international convention on international terrorism was not before the Ad Hoc Committee for consideration at its current session, the point was made that the early completion of work on the two agenda items would facilitate the work on the proposed instrument.
