Regarding scientific information, the Working Group recommended that the Conference of the Parties should request the Executive Secretary to work with relevant institutions to synthesize, with peer review, the best available scientific studies on priority areas for marine biodiversity conservation, and that relevant organizations should collaborate in filling data gaps.
