At the same time, the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at the main part of its sixty-sixth session on implementation of resolution 64/259, and on a number of issues relating to strengthening accountability in the United Nations Secretariat.

2. In the past four years, the Secretariat has submitted three reports on accountability in the United Nations Secretariat, in which governance and oversight in the United Nations was reviewed and the larger accountability framework of the Secretariat was discussed.

3. The General Assembly, in its resolution 64/259, having considered the report of the Secretary-General (A/64/640) and the related report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (A/64/683 and Corr.1), inter alia, reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening accountability in the United Nations Secretariat and the accountability of the Secretary-General for the performance of the Secretariat to all Member States.
