(10) The Committee is deeply concerned about the numerous, ongoing credible and consistent allegations, corroborated by the Special Rapporteur on torture in his report (A/HRC/7/3/Add.7) and other sources, of routine and widespread use of torture and ill-treatment of suspects in police custody, especially to extract confessions or information to be used in criminal proceedings.
(10) يساور اللجنة قلق بالغ إزاء تعدد واستمرار الادعاءات الموثوقة والمتسقة التي أكدها المقرر الخاص المعني بمسألة التعذيب في تقريره (A/HRC/7/3/Add.7) وأكدتها مصادر أخرى، بشأن ممارسة التعذيب ضد المشتبه فيهم وإساءة معاملتهم بصورة روتينية وعلى نطاق واسع في مراكز الاحتجاز التابعة للشرطة ولا سيما لانتزاع اعترافات أو معلومات تستخدم في الملاحقات الجنائية.

(11) Notwithstanding the State party's efforts to address the practice of torture and related problems in the criminal justice system, the Committee remains deeply concerned about the continued allegations, corroborated by numerous Chinese legal sources, of routine and widespread use of torture and ill-treatment of suspects in police custody, especially to extract confessions or information to be used in criminal proceedings.
