75. The Convention against Corruption refers to the duty of States parties to take measures to strengthen integrity and to prevent opportunities for corruption among members of the judiciary.

Under paragraph 1 of this provision, State Parties must, bearing in mind the independence of the judiciary and its crucial role in combating corruption and in accordance with the fundamental principles of its legal system and without prejudice to judicial independence, take measures to strengthen integrity and to prevent opportunities for corruption among members of the judiciary.

Bearing in mind the crucial role of the judiciary in combating corruption, each State Party shall, in accordance with the fundamental principles of its legal system and without prejudice to judicial independence, take measures to strengthen integrity and to prevent opportunities for corruption among members of the judiciary [in the exercise of their functions].
1- تتخذ كل دولة طرف، وفقا للمبادئ الأساسية لنظامها القانوني ودون مساس باستقلالية القضاء، وواضعة في اعتبارها ما للجهاز القضائي من دور بالغ الأهمية في مكافحة الفساد، تدابير لتدعيم النـزاهة ومنع فرص الفساد بين أعضاء الجهاز القضائي [لدى ممارسة وظائفهم].

Bearing in mind the independence of the judiciary and its crucial role in combating corruption, each State Party shall, in accordance with the fundamental principles of its legal system and without prejudice to judicial independence, take measures to strengthen integrity and to prevent opportunities for corruption among members of the judiciary.
1- نظرا لأهمية استقلالية القضاء وما له من دور حاسم في مكافحة الفساد، تتخذ كل دولة طرف، وفقا للمبادئ الأساسية لنظامها القانوني ودون مساس باستقلالية القضاء، تدابير لتدعيم النـزاهة ودرء فرص الفساد بين أعضاء الجهاز القضائي.

More specifically, in article 11 (1) of the Convention, without prejudice to judicial independence, States parties are encouraged to take measures to strengthen integrity and to prevent opportunities for corruption among members of the judiciary; such measures include rules on the conduct of members of the judiciary.

Article 11, paragraph 1, of the Convention, while stressing the independence of the judiciary and its crucial role in combating corruption, requires States parties to take measures to: (a) strengthen judicial integrity; and (b) prevent opportunities for corruption among members of the judiciary.
