Mr. Diène stated that racism and discrimination were becoming ever more complex.

As a positive response to growing forms of racism and racial discrimination, Mr. Diène emphasized the need to promote and foster nations of diversity.

Mr. Diène emphasized that people of African descent could not be linked only to the slave trade as the issue of people of African descent was broader.
وشدد السيد ديين على أنه لا يمكن ربط المنحدرين من أصل أفريقي بتجارة الرقيق فقط لأن قضية المنحدرين من أصل أفريقي أوسع من ذلك.

Mr. Diène pointed out that the issue of reparation did not concern only people of African descent but all members of society.

56. Mr. Diène expressed concern that racism was on the rise and suggested the inclusion of the concept of identity in the programme.

24. Mr. Diène (Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance) said that there had been a recent increase in racist and xenophobic violence.
