On 18 June 2008, the author submitted a copy of a report from the Commonwealth and Immigration Ombudsman to the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, dated 28 March 2008, as well as other documentation, which indicates that the State party has sought diplomatic assurances from China that the author will not be subjected to any violation of her rights under the Covenant if she is returned there.
