Objectives: To enhance the capacity of the countries of the region, particularly the least developed countries and countries emerging from conflict, in formulating, implementing and monitoring integrated social policies and adapting ESCWA Regional frameworks and best practices on managing social policies advocated by ESCWA to national specificities using a participatory approach.
الأهداف: تعزيز قدرة بلدان المنطقة، لا سيما أقل البلدان نموا والبلدان الخارجة من صراعات، على صياغة وتنفيذ ورصد سياسات اجتماعية متكاملة وتطويع الأطر الإقليمية للإسكوا وأفضل ممارساتها في إدارة السياسات الاجتماعية التي تدعو إليها الإسكوا لتتماشى مع الخصوصيات الوطنية، وذلك باتباع نهج قائم على التشارك.

وأنشئت في عام 2000 الآلية الإقليمية للإسكوا لتعزيز نظم تسخير الطاقة لأغراض التنمية المستدامة، كشبكة إقليمية تضم السلطات المعنية، أنشئت للإسراع بخطى وضع هذه الأنظمة وتطبيقها الميداني.

As a result, orientation workshops were conducted to build the capacity of the newly recruited staff for adapting ESCWA Regional frameworks to national specificities and determining suitable mechanisms for designing, implementing and evaluating national social policies.

The ESCWA Regional plan of action* for building the information society constituted an important milestone in the implementation of the Summit's recommendations and provided the basis for the Arab Plan of Action for the World Summit for the Information Society.
