The Division for Ocean Affairs and Law of the Sea of the Office of Legal Affairs, by virtue of the special responsibilities of the Secretary-General under the Convention and the oversight role of the General Assembly, is required to review and monitor all developments relating to the law of the sea and ocean affairs.
