Mr. Mezzalama (Chairman of the Joint Inspection Unit) said that a difficult situation would be created if JIU did not receive a response from the General Assembly on its programme of work, since the Unit would be deprived of the guidance and encouragement of the Member States, which were the beneficiaries of its work.
