The Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (Basic Law) came into effect on 1 July 1997.
ودخل القانون الأساسي لمنطقة هونغ كونغ الإدارية الخاصة من جمهورية الصين الشعبية (القانون الأساسي) حيز التنفيذ في 1 تموز/يوليه 1997.

In particular, Article 4 of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (Basic Law), our constitutional document, provides that the HKSAR shall safeguard the rights and freedoms of residents of the HKSAR and of other persons in the Region in accordance with law.
