وأكد مجددا قرار المجلس 2008/36 بشأن تعزيز تنسيق المساعدة الإنسانية التي تقدمها منظومة الأمم المتحدة في حالات الطوارئ على الحاجة إلى تعميم مراعاة المنظور الجنساني في عمليات المساعدة الإنسانية بطريقة شاملة ومتسقة، وأحاط علما بالسياسة المستكملة التي تتبعها اللجنة الدائمة المشتركة بين الوكالات بشأن المساواة بين الجنسين في الأعمال المتعلقة بالشؤون الإنسانية.

وقد طلب اﻷمين العام الى مفوض اﻷمم المتحدة السامي لشؤون اللاجئين أن يقود تنسيق المساعدة الانسانية المقدمة من منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة إلى المتأثرين بالنزاع في يوغوسلافيا السابقة.

These efforts are in direct response to General Assembly resolution 46/182 of 19 December 1991, which, in paragraph 39 of the annex states, inter alia, that " the resident coordinator should normally coordinate the humanitarian assistance of the United Nations system at the country level " .
