Although the State party is undertaking some training of police officers and other professionals working with children to promote respect for children's rights, the Committee is deeply concerned at the numerous reports of torture, serious illtreatment and sexual abuse of children, including children belonging to religious or other minority groups, by police officers in detention facilities and other State institutions.
