In the light of the provisions of the Convention and the elaboration of its principles in general recommendation No. 15 and the present recommendation, the Committee recommends that the States parties declare and effectively sanction as offences punishable by law:
وفي ضوء أحكام الاتفاقية وتفصيل مبادئها في التوصية العامة 15 وهذه التوصية، توصي اللجنة بأن تعلن الدول الأطراف أن الجرائم التالية يعاقب عليها القانون وأن تعاقب عليها فعلياً:

Following the discussion, the Committee renewed its determination to work on a general recommendation on special measures, with the objective of providing overall interpretative guidance on the meaning of the above articles in the light of the provisions of the Convention as a whole.
وجدّدت اللجنة في أعقاب المناقشة عزمها على العمل من أجل وضع توصية عامة بشأن التدابير الخاصة، وذلك بهدف توفير توجيهات عامة لتفسير معنى المادتين المذكورتين أعلاه في ضوء أحكام الاتفاقية برمتها.

My delegation believes that there should be a further study of the overall competence of the Authority to prevent damage to the living resources of the Area in the light of the provisions of the Convention and of contemporary international environmental law.

32- وتلاحظ اللجنة بقلق أن إساءة تفسير قوانين الانتخابات أدت إلى توترات بين الجماعات الإثنية والدينية، وتوصي بإعادة النظر في هذه القوانين في ضوء أحكام الاتفاقية المتعلقة بحق جميع المواطنين في المشاركة في الحياة السياسية للبلد.

(b) Review the existing legislation on adoption in the light of the provisions of the Convention and consider ratifying the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption of 1993.

27. In 2003, CERD noted with concern that the misinterpretation of election laws has given rise to tensions between ethnic and religious groups and recommended that these laws be reviewed in light of the provisions of the Convention relating to the right of all citizens to take part in political life.
27- لاحظت لجنة القضاء على التمييز العنصري بقلق أن إساءة تفسير قوانين الانتخابات أدت إلى توترات بين الجماعات العرقية والدينية، وأوصت بإعادة النظر في هذه القوانين في ضوء أحكام الاتفاقية المتعلقة بحق جميع المواطنين في المشاركة في الحياة السياسية للبلد(82).
