At its organizational session for 1999, the Council stressed the crucial importance of the completion of the work of that Committee on the vulnerability index and requested the Committee to continue, and make all possible efforts to complete, its work in this regard during its forthcoming session (New York, 26–30 April 1999) and to report to the Council at its substantive session of 1999 (resolution 1999/2).
