ADDRESSED TO THE SECRETARY-GENERAL On behalf of the Permanent Representatives to the United Nations of the States members of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN), I have the honour to transmit to you herewith the text of a statement issued by the Foreign Ministers of ASEAN on Cambodia.

We therefore highly value our increasing contacts with the countries members of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the economies of South-East Asia generally.
ولذا نقيﱢم تقييما عاليا اتصالاتنا المتزايدة مع البلدان اﻷعضاء في رابطة دول جنوب شرق آسيا، ومع اقتصادات جنوب شرق آسيا بشكل عام.

Indonesia has also been active in the field of information science and technology exchange programmes, education and training, and joint projects between developing countries, especially among States members of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN), neighbouring countries in Asia as well as other non-aligned countries.

Australia has also sought to strengthen the ability of Pacific Island countries through seven different projects at an estimated cost of US$ 14 million, intends to assist countries that are members of the Association of South-East Asian Nations in developing environmental policy and is investigating the usefulness of environmental profiles for identifying environmental priorities.

The countries of the Asia-Pacific region, particularly those that were members of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN), had an important role to play in that regard.

As I write this letter, the members of the Association of South-East Asian Nations are working diligently to bring the situation back into the framework of the 1991 Paris Peace Agreements.
