Recently, following the ratification of the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption of 1993, the Knesset enacted a substantial amendment to the Child Adoption Law which establishes guidelines and procedures for international adoptions.

He also briefed the Committee on progress made in preparing the preliminary draft convention on the protection of children, as well as on the implementation of the Hague Convention on the Law applicable to Maintenance Obligations and of the United Nations Convention on the Recovery Abroad of Maintenance.
