As this is the first time that I report to the Security Council on this aspect of the United Nations operations in Tajikistan, it is worth recalling United Nations involvement there since the autumn of 1992, when the Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the Secretariat fielded a mission to assess the country's emergency humanitarian requirements.

By an exchange of letters dated 5 September 1996 between the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Coordinator of the United Nations operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an agreement was reached on the status of UNMIBH and its personnel in that host country.

An agreement on the status of UNMIBH and its personnel in Bosnia and Herzegovina was reached by an exchange of letters dated 5 September 1996 between the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Coordinator of the United Nations operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The report of the Advisory Committee in document A/52/865 concerned the status of the special account for the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) and made comments on the report of the Secretary-General on the evaluation of the United Nations operations in Cambodia (A/51/777).
٢٩ - أما تقرير اللجنة الاستشارية الوارد في الوثيقة A/52/865 فيتعلق بحساب دعم سلطة اﻷمم المتحدة الانتقالية في كمبوديا ويبدي تعليقات بشأن تقرير اﻷمين العام عن تقييم عمليات اﻷمم المتحدة في كمبوديا A/51/777)(.

21. Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Coordinator of the United Nations operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By its resolution 1184 (1998), the Security Council approved the establishment by UNMIBH of a programme to monitor and assess the court system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
