٥ - واستطرد قائلا إن اللجنة الحكومية الدولية للعقد العالمي للتنمية الثقافية قد اختتمت دورتها اﻷخيرة بتقييم إيجابي جدا لﻷنشطة التي نفذت خلال فترة العقد، إلا أنها أشارت إلى ضرورة عدم توقف الجهود المعنية بإعطاء الثقافة دورا أساسيا في التنمية بسبب انتهاء العقد.
