192. After some discussion, it was suggested that both views might be accommodated if variant B were deleted and subparagraphs (a), (b) and (c) of paragraph 2 of Variant A were merged into paragraph 1 of Variant A, preceded by the words " and provided that " .

Support was expressed in favour of both Variants A and B. In favour of Variant A, it was stated that it was based on a media-neutral approach, and thus addressed different types of technologies used in international trade.
٤٥ - وقد أعرب عن تأييد للبديلين ألف وباء كليهما . فقيل تأييدا للبديل ألف انه يستند الى نهج محايد فيما بين الوسائط ، ومن ثم فهو يتناول أنواعا متباينة من التكنولوجيات المستخدمة في التجارة الدولية .

In favour of Variant A, it was stated that, to the extent it focused on the creation of a digital signature without referring to any specific technology, it was sufficiently flexible to encompass different types of digital signatures.
٤٦ - وتأييدا للبديل ألف ، قيل انه لكونه يركز على انشاء توقيع رقمي دون أن يشير الى أية تكنولوجيا معينة ، فهو يتسم بالمرونة الكافية ليشمل أنواع مختلفة من التواقيع الرقمية .
