Almost all of the 28 States that responded on this point indicated that when requesting information they could offer assurances that the information would not be transmitted or used for investigations, prosecutions or proceedings other than those stated in the request without the prior consent of the requested State.

One delegation proposed that the use of evidence be restricted only when the requested State so indicated.
