As recalled in the previous report of the Committee (A/53/418, para. 8), the General Assembly had requested that the Secretary-General ensure the clear delineation of responsibilities between the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Department of Political Affairs (resolutions 50/214 and 52/220).
