Developed and followed up on biodiversity-related aspects of the work of the Joint Liaison Group of the Rio Conventions in order to facilitate cooperation among the secretariats of the three conventions both at the national and international levels.

The meeting also agreed that a joint exhibition by the secretariats of the three conventions would be held during the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) to display information on achievements since the Earth Summit in 1992 and to provide joint programmatic and organizational information on the three Conventions.

In September 2009 the secretariats of the three conventions held a two-day joint retreat at which they discussed that progress and how to build on it.
