كما بادرت المفوضية إلى إثارة الاهتمام باتفاقية عام 1951 من خلال عقد دورات تدريبية بشأن قانون اللاجئين لصالح المسؤولين الحكوميين، مثل الدورة التي نظمت لمسـؤولين حكوميين من البـلدان الأعضاء في جامعة الدول العربية ومسـؤولين في أمانتها العامة بالمعهد الدولي للقانون الإنساني في سان ريمو، إيطاليا، والدورة المعقودة في الهند لصالح المسؤولين الحكوميين من دول جنوب آسيا.

Similarly, the Delhi Declaration, adopted by eight South Asian States at the 3rd South Asian Conference on Sanitation (SACOSAN III) held in Delhi, in November 2008 recognizes " that access to sanitation and safe drinking water is a basic right, and according national priority to sanitation is imperative " .
