Mr. Ouédraogo (Joint Inspection Unit) said that paragraph 37 of the report of the Joint Inspection Unit, entitled " From the Optical Disk System to the Official Documents System (ODS): status of implementation and evaluation " (A/58/435), contained a graph describing the seven levels of access to ODS.

The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions has considered the note by the Secretary-General (A/58/435) transmitting the report of the Joint Inspection Unit entitled " From the Optical Disk System to the Official Documents System (ODS): status of implementation and evaluation " .
1 - نظرت اللجنة الاستشارية لشؤون الإدارة والميزانية في مذكرة الأمين العام (A/58/435) التي أحال بها تقرير وحدة التفتيش المشتركة المعنون " من نظام الأقراص الضوئية إلى نظام الوثائق الرسمية: حالة التنفيذ والتقييم " .

12. Mr. Ouédraogo (Joint Inspection Unit), introducing the report of the Joint Inspection Unit entitled " From the Optical Disk System to the Official Documents System (ODS): status of implementation and evaluation " (A/58/435), said that the original Optical Disk System had been introduced following a series of Joint Inspection Unit reports in 1986, 1987 and 1989, and had become operational in both Geneva and New York in the biennium 1991-1992.

It also endorsed the recommendations contained in the report of the Joint Inspection Unit on " From the Optical Disk System to the Official Documents System (ODS): status of implementation and evaluation " (A/58/435 and Add.1) and the relevant recommendations of ACABQ and enquired whether all documents in ODS would eventually be made available free of charge to the general public.
كما أعرب عن تأييد وفده للتوصيات الواردة في تقرير وحدة التفتيش المشتركة المعنون " من نظام الأقراص الضوئية إلى نظام الوثائق الرسمية: حالة التنفيذ والتقييم " ، (A/58/435 و Add.1) والتوصيات ذات الصلة المقدمة من اللجنة الاستشارية لشؤون الإدارة والميزانية، وتساءل عما إذا كانت جميع الوثائق في نظام الوثائق الرسمية ستكون متاحة للجمهور العام مجانا في نهاية الأمر.
