Turning to the point made by Mrs. Chanet, she conceded that the paragraph might include a reference to the type of reservation which could limit the Committee's competence to the consideration of events occurring after a specific date, but was not in any event entirely convinced that such reservations were incompatible with the objects and purposes of the Optional Protocol.
