Some delegations considered it important that examination of the topic of remote sensing be included on the agenda of the Legal Subcommittee, taking into account that the Principles Relating to Remote Sensing of the Earth from Outer Space (resolution 41/65, annex) had not been duly updated in the light of current technological progress and the growing participation of the private sector in space activities.

4. Principle XII of the Principles Relating to Remote Sensing of the Earth from Outer Space (General Assembly resolution 41/65, annex), as well as the maintenance of international peace and security, are taken into account through the sensitivity check and the authorization procedure.
4- وخلال إجراءات التحقّق من الحساسية والتصريح يراعى المبدأ الثاني عشر من المبادئ المتعلقة باستشعار الأرض عن بُعد من الفضاء الخارجي (قرار الجمعية العامة 41/65، المرفق)، وكذلك المحافظة على السلم والأمن الدوليين.

With regard to paragraph 1, some delegations expressed the view that terms and expressions such as " equitable " and " non-discriminatory " , which had been used in the more specific context of the 1986 Principles Relating to Remote Sensing of the Earth from Outer Space, should not be used with the same meaning in the paragraph.
٢٢ - فيما يتعلق بالفقرة ١، أعربت بعض الوفود عن الرأي بأن المصطلحات والتعابير مثــل " منصف " و " غير تمييزي " ، التي استخدمت في السياق اﻷكثر تحديدا لمبادئ عام ١٩٨٦ المتعلقة باستشعار اﻷرض من بعد من الفضاء الخارجي ينبغي ألا تستخدم بنفس المعنى في الفقرة.
